Dr. Austin Perlmutter is a board-certified internal medicine physician, a New York Times bestselling author, a researcher and well-known expert on the topic of brain health and sleep. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami, and completed his internal medicine residency at Oregon Health and Science University.

His focus is on helping identify and resolve the biological basis for "stuckness" in the body and brain using lifestyle interventions, and he lectures internationally on this subject.
